Does anyone know how Metal Hammer numbered their issues? It seems they had Volumes and started the issue # over again with #1 with each new Volume. This issue is #2 from 1984 presumably from Volume 1?. But I also have an issue #1 from 1986 and an issue #16 from 1990 that also says Vol. 5.

I have all MH from 1984 to 1991 from Germany, the volume appears for 1990 (vol 5) & 1991 (vol 6).
It's different, with UK Vol 2 appears in 1987, and disappears in 1990 ; in Germany it's CRASH-METAL HAMMER issues without vol number in 1988... and became double number in 1990...

I see. And I now notice that there were multiple pressings in various countries. Wow, makes it real confusing to keep track of what actual issue # it is. LOL. Thanks for the info. You have quite the collection of Metal Hammers. I have all the Metal Forces mags from 1 - 25. That was my Mag of choice back in the day (along with Blackthorn).

Issue 11 (Nov 1986) is the first METAL HAMMER/OVERKILL issue... But issue 12 (dec 86) don't. It came out as normal MH
