    1. You
    2. Dangerous Lies
    3. Shots Break the Silence
    4. Hoist Up the Sails

    Marc Simon Vocals
    Marco Böttcher Guitars
    Heinz Schreiber Bass
    Michael Jacobs Drums

Here is a reup of the last recording by the mighty BRAINFEVER. Their first two albums are in my opinion masterpieces of Teutonic power/speed, and were favorites of mine in the 80s and still today. In particular, Face to Face is one of the alltime greatest slabs of vinyl ever made.

This EP came out a couple years after Face to Face, and sadly, vocalist Horst Neumann is no longer with the band. The passionate soaring vocals of Neumann was one of the main reasons I loved BRAINFEVER so much, and his replacement Marc Simon, while adequate, is nothing close. So I was quite disappointed with this EP when I bought the vinyl back in the late 80s. However, the music, while a bit less glorious than the 2 albums, is still quite strong, in particular the speedy "Hoist up the Sails", my fave on the album, and the opener "You".

I no longer have the vinyl, but I ripped the 4 bonus tracks from the BRAINFEVER reissue CDs, which make up the EP. If someone else wants to add a vinyl rip later, that would be great.

HAIL! And if you haven't heard the two BRAINFEVER albums, do yourself a favor and buy them! On vinyl if you can find, else the reissue CDs on Cult Metal Classics!

    HAIL again!!!!

Dont know if you catched this difference , but i think CD recording is a little bit faster than the Lp . One of the most underrated..for sure! This EP dont loose for the first 2 ones despite the diffetent vocalist. Host Up The Sails is an anthem!!! great post!!

No, these tracks are taken from the official CD re-releases of Capture the Night and Face to Face (on Shark / Cult Metal Classics). Each CD has two bonus tracks, and together the 4 bonus tracks are the EP. I just ripped the bonus tracks from my CDs.

And I didn't notice any speed difference, but it's been a couple decades plus, since I listened to the vinyl.

THEY FUCKIN' RULE. My alltime fave songs from them are "Devil's Eyes" and "Black Jack", both from the FACE TO FACE album, but just about every song is stellar.
