Label Questions » heavy metal labels
hey guys

our band witches' coven has recently released a demo containing some real old-school heavy metal and now we are trying to find a decent label to release it on. this post is not about advertising our band but instead i was hoping that we could try to compile a list of good labels interested in heavy metal that bands starting out could benefit from.

so let's hear it, do you know any good heavy metal labels?
i could start off with:

high roller records - german label with LOTS of great releases under their belt
iron pegasus - underground death, black, thrash and heavy metal label
pure steel - another label with lots of underground releases, german as well i believe?
heavy artillery - don't know too much about these guys other than that they released enforcer - diamonds in the u.s!

sentinel steel records - small us label that launched bands like Onward, Gothic Knights and put out CDs of long-lost gems like Axehammer, Attacker, Steel Assassin (and new Steel Assassin too) - all their releases have been quality IMO - first-class packaging and music.

I think they started as an offshoot of a punk rock label. Their motto is "Where the 90s Never Happened" so I don't like them. Yeah, the 90s never happened for them because they couldn't make any money off of metal then.

Some good labels that specialize in classic metal are Stormspell Records and Shadow Kingdom Records.

Pure Steel and Karthago Records ( germany ) also works good for new bands.
