Record Questions »  [SOLVED] The Accused Archive Tapes 38 song 1981-86 cassette
I bought this cassette from Blaine Cook back in 87 or 88 at a party of sorts after a gig with The Accused, actually I think I traded something for it beer, liquor. I woke up with a hangover, it was in my army jacket pocket. I remember talking to him for quite a while..him handing it to me...Anyhow. I cant seem to find much info on it, looks like a bootleg but cover was obviously done by the artist who does the rest of the Martha artwork. It appears to be colored by hand. I did see that there is a new issue on LP that is very similar but has 34 songs. Hopefully I can figure out how to load pics.

Does anyone else have one, there isnt much info on the web about the Accused period. I was lucky enough to find their first release Oh Martha 12" for 8.00 at a local mom and pop shop here in Seattle last week. I know yhere is about 500 of those printed and i do have a couple 1st gen demis.

Wow, i load the pics to the img site. I then copy the link. I press the mountain button it pops up with the img codes but when i submit. It turns up as a blue box. I am following the directions, and load pics on other forums with no problems. I have no idea why its not working? Im not usually one of those forum dummies, but i am starting to feel like one lol

A friend of mine bought that tape you have from THE ACCUSED in Toronto when they toured in 1988 or 89,
so it is officially released by the band, or "semi-official" , and was finally released on vinyl in 2006 after all these years.

I will probably buy it, but first I grabbed their Baked Tapes LP

Thank you for your response. I see the remake does differ, and is 34 songs instead of 38. I did more digging and found that the original cassette was hand made/colored by the band. It was sold at shows to raise money to help support their upcoming tour only 200 copies were ever made and its a very prized collectible by die hard Splatter Heads. I did find two that have been sold one for 150.00, one at auction for 232.00.
If thats what its worth...its time to say goodbye. I hate to sell it but but i had a brain tumor removed, im disabled, cant work so im selling of my rarities and hanging into memories, and almost as happy having it as a wav file on my computer.
I have some demos, and have been to some rehersals and have them on tape. I seen them play in a living room back around 84 or 85.
I have quite a bit of stuff from Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia bands.
I doubt anyone else has some of this stuff, Unfortunately I have dozens of tapes that i numbered and abbreviated in a hurry, and it wss 30 years ago and now I have no idea who it is. Unless i recognize it but many were bands who did a few jam sessions, a gig and disapearred.
I did find some live shows by a local band by the name of Cyperus. I swore theyd go somewhere but that grunge crap came in and a lot of the good bands we had never stood a chance. Ugh...sorry went off topic but i love to reminisce and talk about the old Washington scene
