EGYPT were an obscure and short-lived three piece Canadian band formed in Vancouver, British Columbia in the early 1980's.
Their only commercial output was this self-financed 7" single, "Enter Thru The Red Door", which was released on the group's own ARDS label.
Stylistically 'Enter Thru The Red Door' is rather nifty mid-paced melodic Heavy Metal enlivened by some nice upfront guitarwork from Allan Hebbard and a chorus which quickly gets stuck in your head.
The flipside of the record is the much more commercial sounding 'Living In A Dream World', which unfortunately strays into AOR territory thanks to some typical 80s keyboard sounds.
Apparently this record is a nightmare to find as it was produced in a very small quantity, and even harder to unearth with it's picture sleeve as didn't most copies didn't have one.
Expect to pay around $100 US if you want to own a mint original with picture sleeve, that's if you can find one.
