I first heard this in '88 whilst living in Texas. I would categorize their style as Proto-Death Metal. Back when I was in Afterlife (US-IN) we did a tour in '94 with Incantation, Anal Cunt, Morpheus Descends and Gutted. One night after a show in Phoenix, Seth Putnam (RIP), some of the guys from Morpheus, Gutted and myself were hanging out and drinking. Seth and I started talking about old school bands and I brought up Decapitation and out of everyone in the room he was the only one who knew of the band. We did an impromptu recitation of the chorus for Bodily Dismemberment to everyone's befuddlement and had a good laugh in doing so.

Not the greatest quality but it is fairly rare and for me brings back a lot of memories from my younger days as well as that tour. Enjoy

Not much info about this band on the net, but the one on MA. As far as I know, they were called Decapitator before they changed their name to Decapitation. I don't know if there are any record from that period. Then, two bands were formed by some Decapitation members, Necronomicon and Necropolis. I wish someone could share any link of this latter one. At least of their first demo "Death Metal" 1986 (not to be confused with the other tons of bands with the name Necropolis)

Nah. DECAPITATOR & NECRONOMICON broke up and ex mùembers formed DECAPITATION. As simlple as that. Then they broke up 6 months later and some members formed NECROPOLIS.
