Searching for the unreleased album recorded in the US 1980, not the later album of the same name.

Please don't ask for this album to be posted as Aztec Music have had this scheduled for release for a while now.
It has leaked here & there in the past, but was always quickly removed, as i believe it is supposed to be issued as a benefit for the families of some of the bands deceased members, or their chosen charities.
Let's try & be patient, and support the official release when it finally arrives.
One song from the album, a cover of The Rolling Stones 'Street Fighting Man' was officially released on a box set called 'Good Times : Celebrating 50 years of Albert Productions' last year or the one before.
Hopefully it'll tide you over til the full thing drops:

I disagree.

If it is "unreleased", already shared, but not officially for sale, it is fair game.

Just like a lot of music on this forum, we hear / are told about a record label re-releasing material,
BUT
until it actually happens... it is empty words.

In the past, I sometimes paid for pre-orders.
I wait sometimes up to a year, and then I have to hound the company to return my money, after it becomes apparent it will never be released.

You are entitled to your opinion of course, but when it comes to specialist labels releasing niche archive stuff like this for a relatively small audience, then a leak of the material could be enough to put the label in question off of pursuing the project if they think the official release might potentially be adversly affected saleswise.
The margins for small specialist labels are pretty tight & for most of them it's a cottage industry/labour of love, so a poor selling release can potentially sink such an operation altogether.
I'd much rather have the album out there the way the band intend it to be heard first, after which i'd feel far happier sharing the raw unvarnished version.
With the proceeds from this particular release also reportedly going to benefit the families of dead band members or their chosen charities, it adds another element to the 'argument' for not putting it out there, as you could potentially be taking money out of their pockets by posting it.
So for me personally, this particular item isn't 'fair game' at all, and i won't be leaking the album here.
For anyone else, it's a matter of their concience, i only hope they arm themselves with all the facts & consider their actions first.

I'd love for that album to get a proper release, but Aztec Records have had that "in the works" officially since 2008 and appearantly there was talk about it as far back as 2000. When I did an interview with the Angry and Pete in 2001 they said that it was to be released soon.

The latest I read about it was: "When Aztec Records approached Alberts a few years back with a view to remastering the lost album and finally releasing it, Alberts struck a deal which came to nothing as they could not find the original master tapes in their archives."

Now we're here fifteen years later and still no sign of it - it's not even listed in the "forthcoming releases" on the Aztec site (in fact it's no longer mentioned anywhere on their site) so I'm growing a bit impatient!

You have to also factor in that in the midst of all the wrangling about releasing the lost album, Aztec Records temporarily went out of business, so that doubtless played a part in lengthening the ongoing saga.
The master tapes for the album have obviously been located now, as 'Street Fighting Man' from those sessions finally saw official release on the 'Good Times' Alberts box set i mentioned earlier.
Unfortunately with Angry currently distracted by his ill advised political career, and the Tatts effectively finished, at least as an international entity because of Paul DeMarco's well publicized 'legal problems', it doesn't look like anyone in the band's camp is actively pushing the project along.
As a result we'll have to just rely on the label getting it done on their own, and that may take time.
TBH, the lost album isn't as exciting in reality as it sounds in theory, the recordings are pretty rough, and many songs sound unfinished or stylistically unlike the band as we know it. There are a few cracking tracks on there mind, but it's a bit of a curio & is only likely to be of interest to Tatts die hards.
My advice? Lower your expectations & bide your time.

I emailed Aztec Records about this. Looks like it may never be released. Alberts are claiming copyright on it, Aztec are claiming otherwise.

It's a shame they just can't release it and give the money to the families of the passed members.
