This is the 1983 debut EP from Italy's classic metal band Dark Lord. It's a pretty rare vinyl release that was pressed on Contempo Records. It was kind of funny to find it floating around a local record place in Pennsylvania. Anyway, this EP marks the debut of shredder Alex Masi who later moved to the U.S. to start his own band Masi, who released a few hard rock releases on Metal Blade Records. I have both of the Dark Lord Italian CD Compilation releases that have some of these tracks included. They were supposed to be remastered, but I believe this recording blows the CD songs away. Hope you like 'em.

The sound of the vinyl, in most cases, compared to the CD, is superior!

I just checked the download. I don't have an account myself. I just xed out the box for registration, went down to the bottom of the page, and followed the prompts for a free/slow download. It worked just fine. Vinyl recordings are always better, but you would think that a remastered CD release would beat a vinyl rip. If the source used for CD releases is vinyl, then the recording should be just as good. The original DAT tapes as a source should make the remastered CD release even better than a vinyl rip. You always have to wonder what the original source is for some of these CD releases. I think some labels use poor quality mp3s to issue cheap-sounding discs. I know that Iordan at Stormspell won't release anything that isn't from a lossless source.
