Here's something special for all of you gloomy metalheads out there: a lossless rip of the demo tape "Derelict" by the long-lasting Japanese visual kei band Smoky Flavor. Although they were already around for about five years before, "Derelict" was really the release that cemented Smoky Flavor's high ranking in the vast visual kei underground. The demo has an overall slamming sound, although it does have some melancholic goth rock elements as well, specifically on the track "Meikyuu no Naka (迷宮の中)". An absolute underground Japanese classic, and definitely recommended to fans of slightly out there heavy metal that has a goth edge while maintaining that same vicious metal bite.

Oh, and years ago, I put on record that the "Derelict" demo was released in 1995, although upon closer examination, I realized it was actually released sometime in 1998. Sorry for the confusion!!

Really nice Nippon thrash mayhem!!Experimenting with song structures and off the wall, odd vocal styles and choruses-melodies their demo brings to mind UNITED, GASTUNK, DEAD END and even OUTRAGE, all presented according to their approach-concept!!
