** - local black/death band and a song from the 1992 debut demo “Creed Of The Unholy Spirit”. I (Mike) played guitar in this band from 1992 – 1995. We were promoting the show we were opening for in a few weeks (Cannibal Corpse, Gorguts and Buried Beneath – flyer below).



Halloween was 4 days away so this night was our Halloween show that year. We had a traditional yearly Halloween show and we usually played themed blocks (look at the song titles) and we also played Halloween effects records and a “Black Mass” taken from a record by Coven released in 1969. It’s an actual black mass recorded and at the end of Side B of the album.

This 2-hour show was recorded onto 2-90 minute tapes. So tape 2 only has half a Side A and then the show ends.

This was the Halloween edition of Sonic insanity that year (1994). At this time our show was temporarily reduced to 2 hours, from 8 - 10pm. Since Halloween was the following Monday and our next show would have been AFTER Halloween we did our Halloween show this night, 6 nights earlier.

You’ll hear many excerpts from the 1969 album by COVEN entitled “Witchcraft: Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls”. It was classic rock like Jefferson Airplane, but at the end of Side B was a 13 minute long ‘Black Mass’. So we play parts of it throughout the show. We used to play this record during either Halloween or Anti-X-mas specials every year. Blasphemy was always fun.
We also play some special effects records for Halloween.

** - local Rochester atmospheric black/death band from the 1994 demo#3 “…And This Too Shall Pass Away…”. Promoting an upcoming show with Violent Fury & Lethargy. I (Mike) played guitar/keyboards in this band from 1992-1995.

The guest in the studio is Heather “The Moongoddess”. She was a listener, but also a friend and a true metal head. Years later she met and eventually married Dan Lilker (S.O.D., Nuclear Assault, Anthrax, Brutal Truth, etc) who re-located to Rochester, NY. He recently plays bass in a local black metal band called Nokturnal Hellstorm.
