Their website is gone, so can't order their compilation CD anymore.

The first demo was great, had a good Metallica-crunchy guitar sound, and original songs,
but then they stopped and became a Metallica tribute band because it paid them more money.

I am guessing this is them in the videos

Thanks to Metalion_SOS for posting this info at http://thecorroseum.org/forum/viewtopic ... start=1290
Canadian band Disaster Area appear in the 1989 'Night Creatures' episode of Alfred Hithchcock Presents. The English version isn't on YT so this will have to do.

Disaster Area's song "Bombshelter" is what is played by the band onstage (with some actor pretending to be the singer?) at the 11:18 minute mark.

    Thanks, I tried that before.
If you click to buy, it says "No active products for this supplier."
That website (or that part of the website) is dead.
I messaged them about buying it a couple years ago and never got a reply, so that site is probably just for Teague Purtell to sell guitar lessons.

Disaster Area (Can) 1988 demo All That Is Wrong (Right? )

    https://www.discogs.com/Disaster-Area-All-That-Is-Wrong-Right/release/10136615

They released a demo tape in 1988, so guess that was the first one.
I thought they only had one, around 1990 or 1991, a few months before they turned into a Metallica tribute band.

Only In Darkness was the only one I seen,
think it was a PRO-printed tape, in a deluxe promo kit - a printed binder/folder with full page photos and biography of each member.

Disaster Area were getting good mentions, and even an interview, in ME.A.T. magazine.
M.E.A.T. was similar to Ron Quintana's Metal Mania zine, but looked a million times better.

Created by Drew Masters (ie. Drew Dalgliesh, or however he spelled his name, who used to write for Rock Express, Metallion mag, etc)
It was a thin, newspaper-print type mag, free at record shops across Canada (late 1980s/early 1990s).
(Some of the same guys later created BW&BK mag ?)

About a month after the interview was printed Disaster Area stopped playing originals which pissed everybody off.
The bar scene, especially in the Toronto was always hiring cover bands and tribute acts, so it was a slap in the face of metal fans looking for new , original bands.
