RESLESS started out as a high school metal band towards the end of 1983 when I got together with Jim
Cardinale, who lived about 5-6 houses down the street from me in a little town called River Vale, N.J,
USA. Jim said he knew of a drummer that he heard was pretty damn good. So I decided one day to go
meet him during his lunch period. As I approached drummer, Kevin McCarthy, he looked at me as if I
were some kind of long haired freak. He didn’t know me other than hearing that I played guitar in some
metal bands. I asked him to jam with me and Jim and he agreed. It didn’t take long for us to put some
songs together.

On May 2nd and 3rd 1984, we recorded our very first tracks, “Don’t Understand” and “The Power”. Kevin,
Jim and I along with Lou Ciarlo (Hades) lent his bass hands, completing the 45 titled “Resless Metal”.
Only 500 copies were produced. We sent promos to fanzines around the world and garnered 5 star
reviews in each of them. We sold copies at local record shops and at shows. Even getting reviewed in
KERRANG! Magazine. Fan mail started to pour in and much of it was pretty interesting to say the least.
Not bad for kids in their mid to late teens!

We needed a bass player and a friend of ours knew one that mopped floors at a local record store. We
paid him a visit, and as soon as we walked in he knocked the mop bucket over and we knew right then he
was our guy, Dave Messinger. We were now back in the studio late 1984 to record 6 more songs but these
songs ended up as demos only…

From 1984 to 2019 these tapes lie dormant in our basements. So here they are finally mixed and mastered
