@ KilledByDeath : ''Metallica/Ozzy (early 86)'', aaarrrggghhh, this should be something my friend, amazing experience, i can not even begin to imagin how good it should have been...

I was born late and got into metal in the 90s so i have not experienced this (watching live a monster band at their top) but i've seen a few concerts in the last years. The ones i consider the best are:

Omen in 2010 (i've also seen them in 2004 but the second time they were so much better and the tracklist was from their first 3 gems...)
    Jag Panzer (Ample Destruction show)
Brocas Helm (i've seen them live two times, in 2005 and 2008 if i'm not mistaken, both were amazing, KILLER shows from an AMAZING band)

And one show that i will never forget: DRI in 2003. It's not that i'm a HUGE fan anymore but it was the first time i ever travelled in Athens for a concert (a litle student taking the ship to Ahens alone for a Metal Live for the first time, how can i forget it...) and i was really AMAZED from the crowds reaction.
It seemed to me like i entered a time machine and travelled to the 80s...

yeah,it was a great show.Metallica opening for Ozzy.

i also show Savatage on the Hall Of The Mountain King Tour, which was also incredible.

and Megadeth on the Peace Sells Tour, also great.

really every band i've seen was a tour for an album i liked.i only see bands when they have an album out i really like.

    Old days
    Iron Maiden (Seventh Son tour)
Helloween, Exodus, Anthrax, Testament (MTV Headbanger's Ball tour)
    Judas Priest (Turbo tour)
Metallica (And Justice for All tour...twice, first time with Queensryche second time with The Cult)

    My greatest regret
King Diamond + D.R.I. at the Harbor theater - The Harbor was a porno theater south of Detroit that used to have punk and metal shows on the weekends. Never went to see the show but have wondered my whole life what it was like.

    Latter day
Ghost + Opeth and Mastadon - Only saw Ghost at this show but they blew me away. Saw Opeth a couple years ago (pretty good show)
Valientt Thor + Holy Grail - Thor wasn't really my style but Holy Grail kicked major ass
Gates of Slumber + Hammers of Misfortune - Wrote a review for this one here

Well I'm not that old so I didn't witness the 80's but still there were some great concerts.

2 times Nazareth. Ok not really metal but those old farts still rock like shit. I had low expectations before the first time but they put on a perfect show.
Just recently Saint Vitus in a small cellar-like venue. Perfect sound and feeling.
    Raven at Wacken 2010.
Most of my favourite gigs were at the Keep it True festival though. Saracen, Fifth Angel, Tygers of Pan Tang just to name a few.

    The Misfits/Anthrax (1996)
    Iron Maiden/Queensryche/Halford (2000)
ProgPower USA - Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian and Angra performing in the US for the first time (2002)
Helloween/Jag Panzer (2003) Jag Panzer showed up late because of heavy traffic, so they only had time to play three songs. Suited me just fine, I don't like 'em.

I went to a lot of concerts in the eighties, saw all these bands (some of them several times)

The following bands I saw at the Dynamo in Eindhoven: Satan, Warlock, Slayer, H-Bomb, Avenger, Mercyful Fate, Trance, Anvil, Anthrax, Jaguar and many others

And saw these all around Holland, Belgium and Germany in various clubs: Tokyo Blade, Acid, Twisted Sister, Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore,Ted Nugent, Whitesnake, Baron Rojo, Vicious Rumors, Savatage, Tygers Of Pan Tang, Picture, Bodine, Highway Chile and again many others.

Plus we used to go to several festivals as well: Aardschokdag, Heavy Sound, Rock Pop

    Great memories, great days :)

I lost Saxon when they came to Santiago, heavy metal bands don't play in this country very often. (hmm)

There are a couple of concerts I have great memories of.

The two main ones are the ones of Iron Maiden in 1980 and 1981, yep indeed with Paul Dianno on vocals :) Both where in my home town of Leiden, The Netherlands. The first one was that they where the support act of Kiss. And the second they where the main ones with More as support.

But the most memorable concert was a Motorhead concert in October, 1982 in, again, Leiden. My friends and I started the day early trying to go to the hotel the band was staying. Some of my friends indeed met the band, but not me. In the mean time, hundreds of Metalheads swarmed the town, while I was at the train station to pick some friends up from Amsterdam. I was waiting on the platform, a train stopped and out of it came a good looking girl with a bottle of wine in her hand. She came to me and asked "Do you have a bottle opener?", "Nope but I get you one, follow me". We got bottle open and she tagged along with me towards where Motorhead supposed to play. Meanwhile a riot broke out on the street where the venue was taking place. The girl and me went behind some scaffolding and started to make out, if you know what I mean. *wink*, *wink*, *nudge*, *nudge* say no more. While we were "busy", the riot police on horseback was trying the clear streets. The concert still went on and it was a good one.

Ooh man, what a day it was...

Aaah Aardschokdag, :)) I have been one of those, it was in Brabanthallen, Den Bosch (I think). The one that Venom supposed to be there, well the band was there but not their equipment. That was withheld by the customs. But still they made an appearance just to say hello.

BTW even though my profile says I am from the USA (where I live now) but.. ik ben een echte Hollander :) Geboren en getogen Leienaar. Ben je ook bij de festival geweest in Eindhoven met Crossfire, Impact, Frankenstein, en Gilgamesjsh? Weet je wel, de "Metal Clogs" verzamelaar?
