I got into LOUDNESS when I was 15 and so they are a sentimental fave of mine, OUTRAGE too. SABBAT are cool, but never got into their schtick too much - I do like METALUCIFER a lot though!_________________________

Yeah : Loudness as well were a substantial part of my (late) youth. Great classical metal !
As for metallucifer : their latest album got very lousy comments in Aardschok (the local metalzine)

Best album ever made : Pyramaze: Melancholy Beast.
Looooong period of pre-internet era i was just familiar with Loudness and Anthem ( 'cause Graham Bonnet sang on their compilation ).
Later i fall down in neo-classical power , so i started with Concerto Moon and Double Dealer .
Last year i first time heard X-Japan , and also looking for their records .
Sabbat is too extreme for me
Metalucifer i ordered , but still waiting for delivery.
LOUDNESS RULES!!!!!!!! and Anthem is very good too!!!!!

I have a lot of personal favorites, but I will say Gargoyle, early Loudness, early X Japan and Terra Rosa.

No one mentions BowWow. More or less the godfathers of Japanse metal / hard rock.....
BREEZE LEAST is the best metal band of Japanese history.....

heh heh, yeah forgot about these guys - had some vinyls of VOW WOW / BOW WOW in the 80s, and bought the Rock Candy re-releases on CD. I prefer Loudness because it's heavier and Vow/Bow Wow were more hard-rock to my ears, but definitely they were a huge band influence-wise

internet is great. I even found a nice video of them, so those who never heard of this band can take a listen/view. Keep in mind this is a song from the early 80's
The best ever band in Asia is Loudness that my fav in the beginning release album.
We can compare this band with GODBLESS which also very famous band from Indonesia at that time, but Loudness is more published international than Godbless.
The first song that i heard is Crazy Night and Dream Fantasy from Disillusion album.
We continue to listen and explore many japan bands like Outrage, Anthem, VowWow, EZO, Akira takasaki, etc.
I Don't Like Japan Metal But The Very Best Band for me is Loudness
For me - without a doubt - are LOUDNESS ( 1981 - 1987), the underrated ANTHEM and the mighty VIGILANTE ( all 4 records) - the best Japanese bands!
