General Metal Discussions » Favorite self titled band/song/album
There are quite a lot of examples where not only a band has an album called the same as the bands name (self titled), but sometimes these albums also have a song on them with the same name as the album and band. There are a lot of good songs that fit this description, so what's your favorite song that has the same title as the band and the album?

For example

The song Iron Maiden from the band Iron Maiden, from the album Iron Maiden.
The song Angel Witch, from the band Angel Witch, from the album Angel Witch.

What's one you really like?

Personally my favorite is Sortilège.

This album is in my top 5 favorite albums ever, and it's such a great song.

Plus some honorable mentions, although the album titles don't match-up, they're great band-name songs:
DREAM DEATH "Dream Death"
SACRIFICE "Sacrifice"
VOIVOD "Voivod"
ASSASSIN "Assassin"
DESTRUCTOR "Destructor"
ACID "Acid"
PILEDRIVER "Pile Driver"
EXODUS "Exodus"
SADUS "Sadus Attack"
HALLOWS EVE "Hallow's Eve"
WEHRMACHT - The Wehrmacht

By the way, there is no song called "Mercyful Fate" so not sure what Exxie is talking about in his reply.

Let me add Valhalla to the list, the chorus is honestly one of the best I've ever heard.

In order to include this song within the 'rules' stipulated in the opening post i'm invoking the technicality that the album title didn't appear on the front cover of the original vinyl, so it initially appeared to be a self-titled LP. (yep)

And an honourable mention for this, although i do prefer the versions on both 'No Sleep 'til Hammersmith' & 'On Parole' to this one. In it's favour, this version has perhaps the best guitar solo of the 3:

Is it that hard to understand the concept of this thread?
