I'm listening to the TORCH 1983 Torch album, and it reminds me a LOT of Guy Speranza and early RIOT.

Oracle Of The Void - In Darkness Is Found The Greater Enlightenment [demo] (1995) Excellent Austrailian black metal demo from '95

Lamented Souls - Demo '95 [demo] (1995) Norwegian doom metal with great vokals and closer to traditional doom than death-doom like other groups of that era - check the song nr 4 - great epic doom metal!

Cardinal Sin (Puerto Rico) - Infanticide (1989) (Demo) - well, I believe most of you guys known this band and demo - if not, I just can tell that this demo is a lost and forgotten thrash metal gem!!!

Deus Mortem - Emanations of the Black Light [Full lenght, 2011] - Polish black metal - created by 2 well know guys from black/death metal Polish scene - which let me believe that Black Metal music still can create something very outstanding and excellent with great production and deeply rooted in roots of this music - first wave, Bathory, Mayhem etc. etc. This album is simply amazing for me and very fast received great opinions all around the world.I used to listen to it once in 2-3 days [mostly late in the evening or in the night].One of those albums which brings something fresh and with respect to the PAST.Most people used to talk about Watain...Watain is good, but NEVER gave this impression to me and 'Emaniations' HAS this something. One of the best albums in Black Metal genre recorded after 2000.

Slayer 'Show no mercy' - I haven't listened for this album quite long time and I gave it a listen recently just to refresh my memory how great this record IS.Still rules after all those years.Slayer forever!

Who The F is Michael Alago?
https://www.podcastone.com/episode/MichaelAlago
Who the F is Michael Alago? Well, he's the A&R guy who signed Metallica, White Zombie, and even Fozzy for their debut album back in 2000. What's A&R? Michael's answering that too! And sharing stories from his days at Elektra Records, Geffen Records, and working with other artists like Cyndi Lauper and Nina Simone! He also survived full-blown AIDS, and you'll hear the miracle that accompanies that story! Plus, Michael talks about the state of the music biz today, why he still considers former Sex Pistol Johnny Lydon a close friend and one of the smartest people he knows, and which single artist makes up his entire desert island top 5 records.

Aggressor - By Any Means Necessary

Always loved this obscure heavy/power/speed gem. Screaming vocals, riffs galore and great songs!

Recently listened to this one myself. Probably one of the best releases last year!

On a related note, I also heard the Demon Bitch album from last year and was impressed with it as well. Otherwise, it's mainly been melodeath (90s In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Insomnium, etc., to name a few), Absu and Confessor. As for non-metal, been a ton of krautrock (particularly stuff like Tangerine Dream), goth rock and rather obscure heavy rock in the mix.

That Eternal Champion disc is probably one of the best epic metal albums of recent times next to the Visigoth album. Great stuff.

Holosade - Hellhouse

American style power/thrash made in the UK. Some nice riffing and vocals to be sure!
