Love their melodies, and Joacim's vocals!

Astaroth (us/ny) - rehearsals and live (1991-92)

Astaroth (us/ny) - Unholy Playground [Demo] (1994)

the song "Unholy Playground" RULES!!
vaalkoth wrote his band had a Kreator influence, but I am getting the vibe of some early Sacrifice (Toronto), where it is in between mid-1980s death and thrash metal.

My 2 recent obsessions are late 70's prog albums from Central Europe:

M. Efekt (cze) "Svět Hledačů" 1979 LP
Side A
Side B

and

Smak (yug) "Stranice Naseg Vremena" 1978 LP
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi4xBWooXYg

Tell me that the vocalist in Smak does not sound like Rob Halford at times, especially on Side B.
And there is a JAMMING instrumental that makes me headbang like it's a thrash song: Ulazak u harem

Sansuikan [Pre-Action!] (Jpn) - Demo [Demo] (1976/77)
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=29699

very cool 1970s rock/metal, uses some synthesizers.
remember the Cirith Ungol debut LP had synths, but was still cool? The same applies here.

Both great Thrash albums from this year, less old school for Deserter but with an amazing drums sound and interesting mix with various genres.

Not a big Slam Death/Beatdown fan, but i find atmosphere in this album nicely crushing and filthy.

This song is really great, Pyphomgertum at they best

Youtube changed it design again, too must luminosity :|

A lot of people reproach to this album to be too weak/using only clear vocals, but to me it's not bad, most songs are really immersive and relaxing. Another good side of MDB.
