General Metal Discussions » Black Sabbath Reunion - What do you expect?
I hope not for a commercial purpose and at least released two albums.

Today's news isn't promising - apparently Bill doesn't think he's getting a fair deal from the contracts he's being asked to sign. Hey, guys, drummers are people too!

Agree with many that very little should be expected on the writing department. Oz's mind and voice are too far gone. Not to mention the highly possible health problems with Iommi could worsen.

Saw them in 2005, a big disspointment. Ozzy lost the text and just gabbled the songs.
He had big-screen tv with the lyrics rolling but still wasn't able to get it right.
I honestly can't understand how this would work 7 years later.

So don't expect this, just a warning (sign) !

More something like this:

Without Bill this is not a reunion.

Now I am not as sad not to be able to see them.

I did not expect anything but some stupid actions.

Honestly, a band that old, especially when failing health is considered, should probably just not play shows anymore. I'd rather remember them in their prime. I always end up feeling like they're tainting their own legacy somehow.

Black Sabbath is a business now,Bill getting shafted proves this is only for money.I was lucky enough to see them in 78 and IMO that's when the the original band died. Those few tracks they put out a few years ago sounded more like Ozzy solo material,I don't expect anything even if they put out a new one.R.I.P.

Bill Ward is no longer participating.
Without him, this is a sham.

Yeah I read about it yesterday, a real shame.
It's not a reunion without him.

Some recommended reading at Bill's Facebook page:

To be honest some young guns could make them worth watching.

There is an online petition supporting Bill Ward here:

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/billward/

I doubt that it'll change the minds of Sabbath or their management, but i guess it's worth a try.

I hope they get Bill. He's such a great drummer that gets overlooked. He may not have chops like Bonham, but there are still MANY drummers that he inspired.

talking about the possible LP here, if iommi and butler take on song writing duties i don't see how this could go wrong, their last work with DIO (the devil you know) was really good, a lot better than that garbage ozzy has been shitting on us the last years.

live show? lets hope they get it together, and bring us a happy ending, again their last live shows with DIO were great, lets hope the good ol' ozz fits his explosive showmanship properly into the band like he used to, and remember not even the drum set in that stage it's under its 60's, so aye, a couple memory problems are forgivable.

I am a diehard fan for long and I expect much than they did with the last Heaven and Hell. However I am a bit skeptic. Moreover Bill Ward doesn't seem to be onboard...
I was really positively surprised by the last Van Halen. I think nobody expected anything from them. So maybe Black Sabbath Mk1 (well assuming BW onboard) will also give us a good surprise.

By the money, I don't expected very much. Metal is feeling, love, not money. I really disagreed with this reunion.

I would love to see black sabbath (original line up) ive never had the privilege (born too late) but with bill's contract issues and toms health problems i dont see much hope for a tour maybe an album but the concept of a tour is looking more bleak as time goes by.

When I first got the news of this I was very excited and looking forward to the album. But when those involved with the project starting pulling the same stunts that were done on the Blizzard Of Ozz/Diary Of A Madman boxset I now see it as nothing more than a cash in and an insult to Sabbath's legacy,Bill Ward and the fans...

I will not invest any money in this at all, shows any merch or the album...I hope those that feel the same way do the same.
