General Metal Discussions » Shadowman's ipod !
Ok guys (girls ?) : want some help here :

I am not only a fanatic metal fan but also an addicted runner !
I put on my running shoes every two days to do my 11,3 kms tour.

So : these two hobbies can be perfectly combined thanks to the ... Ipod !
I have been running for 4 years now and I have not ran hundred meters without metal ! (vking1)

So, I am always on the lookout for cool metal tunes to keep me going.

My style : all melodic stuff with clean vocals (an absolute must), I am (of course) totally into NWOBHM but
also a huge fan of Falconer, Empire, Cornerstone, Pyramaze, Alestorm, Axxis, Wizzard, Heidevolk, Bloodbound and many many more.

Since I want to change my collection now and then I call upon my metal brothers here ! (metal1)

I am especially looking for great songs rather than good albums. After all, only VERY few albums have only good songs.
I don't want fillers on the ipod : only KILLERS to keep me going !

Suggestions ??? (hmm)

I also run with metal in my iPod, and I prefer fast stuff, to keep my legs going. My favorites is stuff like Falconer and the Dragonforce albums. Also Dragonforce songs are quite inspiring and uplifting - ok, some say cheesy, but perfect to keep the spirit going if you are running (or fighting dragons!). My favorite album is Sonic Firestorm, you can run fast to that one!

Witchcross ! Did not know you are a runner as well ! (cheers)

And on your tail about Dragonforce: Got some tunes from Firestorm on my machine as well, however : whenever I try to keep up my pace with the rhythm of 'Fury on the storm' I always wake up in hospital ! Muha !

Hmmm... Melodic metal for running? Have you heard Vicious Rumors? Their albums with their former singer Carl Albert (RIP) are some of my favorite metal albums.

Here are some (fast) songs from Youtube:

Minute to Kill (from the album Digital Dictator, 1988):

On the Edge (from the album Vicious Rumors, 1990):

Hellraiser (from the album Vicious Rumors, 1990)

You Only Live Twice (from the album Welcome to the Ball, 1991)

Sense of Security (from the album Word of Mouth, 1994)

They have great mid tempo stuff as well...

Swedish neoclassical power from beginning of 2000's - Opus Atlantica, Silver Seraph , Reptilian ( 1 st ),timeless Miracle ,1st Bloodbound , Majestic , Time Requiem - plenty fast and extremely melodic songs . Also german AtVance in their first three albums ( my favorite - Soldier of Time ).
I'm not a fan of running but really fan of walking - i try to walk at least 3 hours a day ( when i not at sea ). So, i also make a compilations for my mp3 player.

Besides Dragonforce and Falconer, I also use other fast stuff, like Projecto and Shadows of Steel too - great speedy songs and a few heavy crunchers to slow down to a bit now and then :c)
