General Metal Discussions » Best band in Japan
Sabbat and Metalucifer are my absolute favourites. But I like Loudness, Sacrifice, Doom, Jurassice Jade, Sniper, Hellen, Crowley, Sabbrabells and Nokemono a lot too. By the way there are far too many japanese hair metal bands, but I guess that's why because their foreign metal influences were a lot different.

Wouldn't say that there is ONE best band due to legions of great japanese steel.
Anyone into MAKE UP? Very good melodic Metal from 1984.

I would say that LOUDNESS is the best, especially the early albums "Law of Devils Land", "Disillusion" and "Thunder in the East". More recently, I would check out GUILTY'S LAW which was released last year and is excellent power metal.

When It Comes to Japan, I mostly know them for their Punk Bands (i.e. Gauze, Kuro, etc.)

But when it comes to Metal I would have to say: S.O.B. , G.I.S.M. , Sabbat, Abigail, Barbatos , Sacrifice, Loudness and Effigy

Genocide - Black Sanctuary is probably my favourite album to come out of Japan but Sabbat would be my favourite band from there. It's a little difficult to keep up with all their releases though!
