How do you store your collection?

How do you store your CD's, Vinyls, Tapes etc?
Photos not needed but always interesting to see others ideas for storing collections.

CD's in cd-shelves. Vinyls in sort of a wooden chest that I have, with some cardboard pieces added to make them rest in softer position.

I have big closets, from top to bottom of my room. The big ones at the bottom (around 2 meters high) have shelves at the ideal size for storing records. I keep every record in plastic sleeves and inside those closets and for me its perfect as its practical, nice and as protective as it should be. The only fault is that the records are not furled together in one closet and to avoid problems like ''where is letter H now?'' i have them seperated in music styles, Heavy Metal here, Thrash there etc... I'd like to make a big library like furniture to store them all together but even if i could i have not the space to do so in my house so this will have to do for now...

The few cd's and tapes i have are stored at the last shelve of the last closet.
I'll try to upload a couple of photos later...

with this cabinet-glass I eliminated the dust problem. until a week ago i kept my cds in a box because I lived in a much smaller room and now finally I have my own house and I can have a room exclusively for music. is a dream!

whoah.... 3r1k , you got a lot of cool stuff.
I will admit, what I can see/ figure out, apart from a few LP's I know/own, is mostly what I know from zines or downloads,
and not my top priority.
You definitely are a true underground metalhead !

My layout is pretty close to yours, computer, record player on the side shelf of the desk, and a separate shelf with my collection just to the right.

We want pics !
or is your room really covered in porn and horror and the metal is hidden from your uptight, yet serial murder, parents ?
(yes, I am thinking of Randy Quaid in 'Parents' (1989))

Ha I love the old Canadian rock bands, amazing how many of them stayed together after so many years and still sound pretty good. The two stacks of CDs on the left used to be my aunt's and I picked out a bunch of ones from bands I liked when she passed, my actual collection is the stuff on the right for the most part lol. And didn't you know? Aqua clearly belongs in every metalhead's collection haha.

You should be very proud of the legacy of those old Canadian bands, you Canucks have always punched way above your weight in the music world. For a population of your size you've produced a ludicrous amount of terrific music in every conceivable style.
I've got loads of old '70's Canadian bands in my collection; Goddo, A Foot In Cold Water, Triumph, Connexion, Max Webster, Sex, Warpig, Neil Merryweather, Offenbach, April Wine, Zon, Thundermug, Bruce Cockburn, Moxy, Blue Max, Symphonic Slam, Reckless, Troyka, Mahogany Rush, Christmas, Wireless, Emerald City, Fludd, Wrabit, Pat Travers, Steel River, Sea Dog, etc etc
The list just goes on & on, there's something in the water there that produces great music.
