Since the spring / early summer of 2015, members and the administrator decided we had enough of the simple "Thanks" posts. Why? Because -

1) clicking the thumbs up buttons does the same thing, giving you access to the download link

2) there are some topics with pages and pages of "Thanks", which buries any re-uploaded link another member has provided

3) it shows that most of these members don't care about the rest of us, when it comes time to re-upload requests.
It is better we do not know who you leechers are.'

-Don't spam/flood the forums! use the "Thanks for post" button if you want to see the link.

-Repeating flooding will result in ban without warning.

-Don´t spam "Thanks" to see the hidden download link, but use the proper buttons instead: the Thumbs up

Please do this in any post so far you stole the download link at, or other negative reputation points may follow.

It is a simple rule.

Only the moderators knew this before about me, but over a year ago I spent a lot of time deleting the thousands of "thanks" pages, which resulted in my arm and hand becoming numb for months.

To be clear and ease some tension, the word "thanks" itself is not a problem. Whenever someone bumps a thread without particular reason with a one word response or something useless such as "I have you" (sorry, that one is stuck in my memory for being so pointless and laughable), that is considered spam.

An example of a worthy responses would be, "I have this demo in better audio quality and will post it to the forum soon, thanks to the original uploader for acknowledging this obscure band".

For anyone that continues to not understand this issue, please reserve all of your posts for youtube comments.

Sorry but it's not as easy as you're saying...some years ago the forum almost collapsed because of too many "thanks " post that bumped all the threads,pages and pages of Thanks caused a real mess,slowdowns and also disenabled some functions as the Search one for example not to mention that every one week or two the forum used to go offline because of this...but maybe you were not here yet at that time otherwise you surely would remember it

There are lots of old threads I have reviewed to get info as to why this or that has happened on the forum, but having only regularly visited for about a year I am unaware of any crash because of "thanks" spam. There is a top contributor and now moderator that has posted "thanks" many times in the recent past, followed by sort of brief review about a particular audio release and sometimes providing additional information (we all know who this is and appreciate him for the continued good work.)

So far as the word itself goes, perhaps a harsh regulation could be established. Immediate bans (executions) without warning for senseless thread bumps might help this problem. All of this has been excessively explained already, and some individuals have made it clear they honestly did not mean harm and should have read the rules first. This is ultimately an administration / moderator decision.

Clicking to view the hidden button, giving postive point to uploader, is already an acknowledgment. I think posting unnecessary nonsense can to overload the forum system, and this maybe results the system crashing. It's possible to perceive by 80takemetal (another great forum I log in). Frequently the system is offline. Are very much thanks in that forum. Andrey Scatterbrain should to do the same there, on hidding the links like is done here, and doesn't allowing these unnecessary nonsense being writed all moment.

It's just that the system itself now looks lame and rudimentary. If comments are no longer needed, why are they still opening links? It's probably worth opening a thread like "uploads discussion" like on some other forums or something like that.

Hello! I have been away from this forum for some time now. It's great to see that it's still a place for die hard fans who really want to get connected.

I agree 666% with your statement! By replying only thanks we add nothing to the eternal web of underground contacts which have paved the way to where we are today. By interacting with each other, plenty of metal bands got their music known throughout the world.


Let's talk and spread the disease!

If there's any dead link to my posts I'd be more than happy to re-upload my stuff since I still have that old HD kept with plenty of demos and underground stuff!

If it's technically possible, maybe we can add a passive warning like this one to the comment box? (disappears once it's clicked on to type) example in the image.

Not trying to say people shouldn't read the damn rules beforehand, but I don't know, it's a huge problem so warning more than once might help.

I think it was also suggested a long time ago, to make the rule part of the banner when entering the forum,
but since I see other forums follow the example here, not to post bullshit,
then there is no excuse for ignorance.

Υou are right and that is understandable. But on the other hand, there are specific posts that do NOT open if you don't click "like". This happened to me today... Also, are the negative ratings to all of us who, I admit, didn't heed this important rule, serve a purpose? Moreover, your comments towards us are, at times, too offensive, let me say. We're not a school to "punish" us, are we? We are reasonable people and we understand if you speak to us politely, especially if we have not provoked you. Thank you.
