DIRTY RIG were a Heavy Rock 'n' Roll/Hard Rock band from Long Island, New York, formed in 2003 by guitarist Chas, bass player Steve 'Buckshot' Seabury, ex-BLOOD FARMERS drummer Tony 'Crock LaRock' LaRocca and former BORGO PASS vocalist Ed Sebastian.
Musically their ambition was to follow in the tradition of greasy 80's New York acts such as CIRCUS OF POWER & CYCLE SLUTS FROM HELL. Power & Volume. Low slung groin thunder rock 'n' roll.
'Crock' very soon thereafter had a health issue which forced him to excuse himself from the project in order to get well. He would eventually recover and returned to music with the NYC band AUNT HILDEGARD.
Dave Ardolina was invited to fill Dirty Rig's empty drum stool following Crock's departure.
This new line up recorded an EP, 'Blood, Sweat And Beer', (also known as 'Blood, Sweat And Beer Make America Strong'), in early 2005, but singer Ed Sebastian was fired later that year after not turning up for one of the band's concerts.
After Steve mentioned to a mutual friend of he and former WARRIOR SOUL vocalist Kory Clarke that Dirty Rig was lacking a singer, Clarke volunteered his services.
This new unit gelled together quickly, performing many packed gigs in the Tri-State area at clubs like The Continental, The Crazy Donkey, The Knitting Factory & Crash Mansion.
The band released a full-length album entitled 'Rock Did It' in June 2006 on the Escapi Music label.
As well as the bands original kick ass compositions the record also featured a cover version of 'Cities, Scenes & Thieves', a song originally recorded by Clarke's post-Warrior Soul band, SPACE AGE PLAYBOYS.
A limited edition of the album came with a bonus live DVD entitled 'Death To All Things Emo!!!'.
Following the release of the album, Dirty Rig toured the United Kingdom twice, in September of 2006 & early in 2007.
Between those 2 UK tours, a music video was filmed for the track 'Dogs'.
In 2007 Kory Clarke left the band to reform Warrior Soul, whilst also fronting Chicago Doom Metal legends TROUBLE for a few years.
Warrior Soul have since released 3 studio albums & 2 live records, and Kory has also somehow found the time to release 3 solo albums, 2 albums with MOB RESEARCH & the Trouble album 'Live In L.A.'.
Following Clarke's departure Dirty Rig announced former MORE (NYC) vocalist Tom Morrissey as their new singer, and this new line up recorded a cover of SIMPLE MINDS '(Don't You) Forget About Me' for a various artists CD of songs from movies called 'Hollywood Rocks'.
However, despite having completed recording of a new album, Dirty Rig split up late in 2007, with the album going unreleased.
Steve 'Buckshot' Seabury and Dave Ardolina went on to form the sludge metal band MOTH EATER, who have since released an EP, 'The Thunder God Of Monster Island', & a split 10" EP with BLACK THAI.
'Buckshot' recently published his first book, 'Mosh Potatoes: The Heavy Metal Cook Book', and now also has his own record label, Giddy Up! Records.
Chas & Tom Morrissey both joined the band KILLCODE who have since released 2 full length albums & 2 EPs.
