Going wayyyyyy back to before I was even born (showing my baby age a bit), Gumboil were basically what Mr. Bungle would sound like if they were instead of starting out as a metal-centered avant-garde act, they instead concentrated on being a hardcore punk band instead... oh, and if they were Japanese. Around for a little over five years, Gumboil sadly only released one album, which is the very one I'm presenting to you now: "Rapecore Hurricane", from 1993. The very first release on the awesome hardcore label Rotten Orange, what starts out as a semi-quirky crossover album slowly but surely morphs into a beautiful piece of highly experimental hardcore punk rock that will most definitely please the arthouse-types on here. The track "Charisma" will finally answer your burning question as to what it would sound like if late 80's RHCP and "The Real Thing"-era Faith No More actually fused together. Such a killer track. Highly recommended to fans of pre-Disco Volante Mr. Bungle and Genoa.
